Setup Library

The swing setups we teach — structure context, triggers, and when we sit out.

The library summarises the three swing setups used in the Swing Setup Intensive. They are teaching patterns, not signals. Each needs structure context before any trigger candle matters.

Pullback in an established swing

A clear higher-high or lower-low sequence, then a shallow pullback into prior structure. Entry only after a reclaim of a short-term level; invalidation sits beyond the pullback extreme. We skip if the pullback eats most of the prior impulse.

Range break and retest

A multi-day balance, a decisive break on volume that fits the name’s usual pace, then a retest that holds. The trigger is the hold on retest, not the first break candle. Failed retests are journaled as valuable passes.

Failed breakout reversal

A push beyond a well-watched high or low that cannot attract follow-through and falls back into the range. Short or long fades wait for acceptance back inside. We do not force this setup in thin Friday afternoon tape.

When we sit out

News-driven gaps without structure, overlapping mid-range chop, and sessions where your journal already shows two rule breaks that week. Sitting out is treated as a decision, not a blank day.
